this tells you the version of your kernel

ex... 2.6.8.1

then=20

$apt-cache search 'kernel-headers-2.6.8.1

and

$apt-get install kernel-headers-2.6.8.1

then

$apt-get install module-assistant nvidia-kernel-common=20
$module-assistant auto-install nvidia=20

now you can also change the driver name from "nv" to "nvidia"=20
in /etc/X11/XF86Config-4


that's all

the best way to solve your problem with debian is to know=20

apt and dpkg
