I consider it abusive to be told that we've done no work toward making a 
generic player, and to be told to throw away all our existing work and 
replace it with something else.

If you don't want comments in response to that kind of report, fix bugzilla 
to allow one to mark a bugreport INVALID without comment.  I'd not have 
written anything if bugzilla didn't force me to.
