You have a point I could mention this on a Kate-specific ML but, well, signing up for yet another ML for just 1 message and all that...

FWIW, adding support for QtHelp documents has already come up on the Zeal issue tracker. If ever that happens Zeal would become a serious candidate for a standalone but remotely controlled documentation browser. There's a lot of useful documentation in docset bundles.
