The index files are always next to the mbox file. So under
/mnt/server/anne/.kde/share/apps/kmail/imap/.1687036093.directory/
there should at least be INBOX, .INBOX.index, .INBOX.index.ids.

You need to look into the .directory folder with the corresponding 
number, i.e. .133252502.directory on the laptop and 
.1687036093.directory on the server.
