I just remembered: I had duplicate tags in KAddressBook as well. And that 
was already with KDEPIM 4.4.5 that I used with KDE 4.4.5, 4.6.5 and now 
4.7.4.

Yes, they are still there. Although not excessively. About 5 duplicates 
for each tag I created. With one tag only one duplicate. Maybe that 
depends on how often I used the tag and Nepomuk created another one 
whenever I selected some tag for a contact?
