Should be doable, I just haven't had the time. I think Laurent or Allen wanted to look at back porting the changes, but I guess neither of them found the time either, so far. Does anyone feel like pitching in? The commits should be easy to find, search for changes from me in 4.8 branch and take out the ones that add the new feature, I guess.
