  Some POP servers (e.g. Gmail) have a 'recent' facility, which will
re-download the last 30 days' emails (including Sent!).

To use 'recent',  just change the <username> field in the Kmail POP
server account from "username@...." to "recent:username@....".
  (Remembering to change it back afterwards...)

The SO did this recently with her Gmail account.
