Hi Jerome,
from my experience this option works as follows: If you enable it, the "soft" lline breaks will be changed to fixed ones, if you disable it, the text will not be changed. I have this setting disabled and never found any draft with fixed word wraps.
Perhaps disabling this setting will help you.
