I will probably do that soon.  After an update when this started to happen, my mailing list settings were screwed i.e. Wrong email address used to send to mailing list, it mixed them all up and now "Apply filters" doesn;t work if its a button on the tool bar. 
I thought i found a work around for the dictionary error by unclicking the spell check before sending option in the settings, but as this email failed, it wasn't.

Yes, it just seemed only to happen when kmail was within kontact, but eventually running kmail standalone also had the problem
