Where are mails stored now?

Hi all

Am new to list, been using Kmail since I started with Linux in 2005.

All mail is POP3, numerous accounts on numerous domains ("feature" of being a 
web dev...)

Anyway since the last update around end of January, it now appears that Kmail 
is storing the new emails somewhere else instead of 

~/.local/share/.local-mail.directory/

Does anyone know where?

I've tried to find them without success.

This issue is, I believe, responsible for the "please wait while message is 
transferred" problem, since Kmail/Akonadi/whatever is now trying to find the 
old message in the new location, and it's not there, it's under the folder 
structure above...

I really need to know where they are so that I can try merging old and new 
mails into one location, and more importantly, so that my nightly backups with 
Bacula will actually back them up...
