No it does not require Rich-Text

If you just what the contents of a table it is possible to paste a table into 
plain text mails
The cell content is separated with tabstops as in this example (To-Do list for 
LPD 2018.2). it still needs some reformatting as Andreas mentioned, but it 
works for the contents.

Line of Action: Menu "Bearbeiten" -> "Einfügen als Zitat" -> that does the 
trick for me
