Re: mbox? (was: Re: Part 2 of any progress on kmail in debian buster?)

first an administrative note on mailing list etiquette: Please don't reply to 
an email if you start a new topic, e.g. if your "reply" does not quote 
anything from the email you reply to.

With KMail an easy way to write a new message to a mailing list is by clicking 
on the mailing list address in the message header.

KMail can read single mbox folders (e.g. the files in /mail/spool).

Moreover, KMail can still read mbox folders that have been created by old 
versions of KMail. This is done via a "KMail Mail Folder" Akonadi agent.

It is no longer possible to create folders in mbox format from KMail's user 
interface.

But: If you create a new file in the folder structure below the folder 
configured for a "KMail Mail Folder" agent, then KMail should (try to) treat 
this file as folder in mbox format. Using this trick you should be able to 
create new folders in mbox format outside of KMail. I would quit KMail and 
stop Akonadi (with "akonadictl stop") before adding an mbox file. After 
restarting KMail, it will hopefully pick up the new folder.

If your KMail does not use a "KMail Mail Folder" agent, then you can create 
one with Akonadi Console (akonadiconsole).

I haven't tested any of this.
