Knowledge is such a wonderful, and in my case, rare, thing. I agree that a script would be nice. I also note the following: After following your instructions and then running akonadi fscj and vacuum, it hung up on vacuum. Not knowing how long that took, I let it run all night. Still hung up. Ran akonadi fsck again and vacuum again in morning and vacuum worked. On running fsck all seems well except I get about 50 lines similar to the following line: "Found unreferenced external file: /home/johwhi/.local/share/akonadi/file_db_data/ 26/344226_r0" the last number being slightly different in each case.
