Sending problem

When I begin inserting an email address into the "To" space, I get a lot of choices, 
based on my prior sending habits, which choices are narrowed as I continue typing 
in the email address.

Occasionally, and I know this will come as a surprise to the distinguished members 
of this list, I make a mistake and send to an address which is similar to but not 
exactly the intended address.  

From that point on, ad nauseam, the erroneous address shows when I again try to 
send an email to that recipient.  

I know there must be some way to edit the email address list and delete the 
erroneous address, so it is deleted from the list.  Yet I cannot figure out how to do 
this.

Any suggestions?
