Upgrading KDE is unfortunatly not as easy as it should be and sometimes risky, 
since not all developers convert old configuration files :-( But the good 
thing with KDE2 and 3 is, that most distributors have different package names 
so that you can install them in parallel. I don't know the debian packages, 
maybe anyone else here can tell if they do?

Well, once you installed KDE3 in parallel, you can copy your old settings in 
$HOME/.kde to a save place (you should do!). Then you can try, if your old 
settings work correctly with the new version. If you experience problems, you 
can delete the single config files in $HOME/.kde/share/config/<appname>rc. 
Also you can search the kdepim mailing lists at lists.kde.org, if other 
people also had the same problem. 
I don't use these 3 apps, so I cannot tell you details about the upgrade. With 
the apps I use, the upgrade didn't cause any problems, except that kdevelop 
of KDE3.0.2 now also expects automake1.5 which forced me to upgrade...

BTW, how good do these 3 apps work? I am in search for good pim tools, but 
didn't try them yet. A very important thing for me is synchronisation, since 
I have 2 work places.
