Ok, here is some background:

Actually it is saying, if I didn't get a version stamp, then try for a
package. That said, I think I need a "if not stamp or package looke in the
registry ... 'cos that is where the brute force load was". Let me look into
this more, this area has changed a lot in the last few weeks.
