I tested with the same versions as you (jdk-1.3.1_10 and Tomcat 4.1.29) but
without success. It's not so bad because i have an idea of what (I'm pretty
sure) avoids the barcode to appear on the PDF. I don't have a real server X
installed on my machine, that must causes the issue. In fact, the command
./fop.sh -fo input_file.fo -pdf output_file.pdf works only if I've started a
VNCSERVER and exported the variable DISPLAY=0:1

So I imagine the servlet doesn't work properly because it can't use the
serverX to output the barcode... and I don't know how to tell him to use for
example vncserver. Do you know how to fix that?
