Binary version of Debian

I cannot seem to get the binary version of aubit4gl to properly install.  I
have created a Debian vm to evaluate aubit until it can successfully build on
FreeBSD.  However, I am having similar problems with the binary on a Linux
system.

4glc hello.4gl
Error: can't open DLL
/home/byrnejb_hll/Projects/aubit4glbin/plugins-1.5_2/libLEX_C.so - STOP
Error msg: /home/byrnejb_hll/Projects/aubit4glbin/plugins-1.5_2/libLEX_C.so:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Cannot open DLL

There is no plugins-1.5_2 directory in /home/byrnejb_hll/Projects/aubit4glbin/.
 there is a  plugins-1.5_1 which raises the question why is the binary looking
for somewhere else?
