Chinese characters

Does BDS allow the input and display of Chinese characters (pinyin, big5...)
?
Works OK in Genero, but have tried all sorts of settings for
"CLIENT_LOCALE", "DB_LOCALE" and "LANG" but no luck.

What is the trick ?
