Automating Genero Data Entry

Our new third-party transactional data base system uses a unix-hosted
Informix engine with a Genero PC-based front-end.

 

We have large amounts of data -- typically compiled/assembled in Excel
spreadhseets -- that needs to be entered.  It is extremely time
consuming, error prone, and inefficient to enter this data into the
Genero screens by hand on the PCs.

 

Is there some macro or script or program I can use to open a data file
(e.g. excel, text), read the data I need to upload, and enter it into
the Genero screen directly as if I were typing it in.  Essentially, I
need to automate the 'fat finger' process of entering data into the
Genero screen.

 

I need to 'go through' the Genero screens because I do not have direct
assess to the database tables themselves.
