Re: Why program in MI?

I don't think that learning to program in MI offers any real advantages. 

However, reading the docs and playing with a few of the built-in versions from RPG will teach you the kind of functionality it offers that go beyond RPG. I would never write an MI program - but I would (and have) called MI functions from RPG.
