I've understood for awhile that spool files are mysterious objects that
programmers-who-don't-know-what-they're-doing should just avoid. I think Al
Barsa would term it "running the MAKEAMESS" command. (I just love that!)

And, yeah, millions of spool files to track and make decisions on can be a
very long running process. So, I can concur on those points. I guess I was
thinking more along the lines of "normal" user libraries.
