I'm not living in NY. But in Italy where we are not so ethical ... but we mix RPG and MI with pizza, spaghetti and mandolino. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dan" <[email protected]> To: "MI Programming on the AS400 / iSeries" <mi400-Zwy7GipZuJhWk0Htik3J/[email protected]> Sent: Friday, October 07, 2005 4:36 PM Subject: Re: [MI400] Oir reference On 10/7/05, Beppe Costa <[email protected]> wrote: > > Dan, > > sometimes MI helped me to solve some problems. > > For example recently I had to analize all the spooled files we have on our > systems (we have four 870 and a 890). Obviously, there's a trade-off. ROI. Say you spend 8 hours doing something that can be done with an IBM command right now, but you run it multiple times per day and the MI solution does it in half the time as the IBM command. I can see that. Maybe something's missed in the translation, but your last sentence spells "creating your own job security ala extortion". If true and is the primary basis for doing it in MI, it's unethical and most companies would show you the door in a New York minute. If I misinterpreted, I apologize. - Dan _______________________________________________ This is the MI Programming on the AS400 / iSeries (MI400) mailing list To post a message email: MI400-Zwy7GipZuJhWk0Htik3J/[email protected] To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/mi400 or email: MI400-request-Zwy7GipZuJhWk0Htik3J/[email protected] Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/mi400. _______________________________________________ This is the MI Programming on the AS400 / iSeries (MI400) mailing list To post a message email: MI400-Zwy7GipZuJhWk0Htik3J/[email protected] To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/mi400 or email: MI400-request-Zwy7GipZuJhWk0Htik3J/[email protected] Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/mi400.
