True, because I was so disappointed by previous versions, I have stopped
trying. However, the hint that it has become better already from such a
well-known name in the Delphi scene is enough for me to find and try it and
possibly buy it at some point, if it really fits my needs.

Alone the phrase "after the fixpacks" in your first sentence should make you
think twice. And since I am currently working with Delphi 7 again (I am
mostly writing drivers, reverse engineering and writing C++ stuff) for one
project, I have my frequent IDE-crashes back again. That's why I hate to
work with Delphi sometimes. Because I was used to classic key mapping (save
= F2) I lost the work of ~2hours just because I pressed the wrong keys (F2
instead of the set Ctrl+S).

I had it relatively often in the last few days - more often than in Delphi
4.

I've never seen this problem. But another one: if a (modal) message box is
shown by an IDE window, it is possible you never get rid of it anymore,
because you are not allowed to touch other IDE windows to move them away and
make your message box visible again to close it - current solution: kill the
process of the IDE.
