Well, another interesting aspect is: Is there a real copyright on that files
which prevents one from translating the file? At least here in Germany there
is pretty likely that this stuff is not protected by copyright law. I do not
know how the copyright rights are in other countries. There are two aspects
here:

1) Interfaces can not be protected by copyright law.

2) Publishing stuff to access a library etc. implies that it is the official
interface to the library and therefor can be used by anyone so they can
access the library. This includes the right to translate that stuff to other
programming languages.
