The basic approach is to open the appropriate device, probably either 
/dev/dsp or /dev/audio as if it were a file to be written to, and then write 
the .wav file to it.

This http://www.4front-tech.com/pguide/oss.pdf is a pretty good link if you 
want to know more, the examples are in C, but they're fairly easy to 
translate.
