So far I have not had cause to carry my compiled code onto another
distribution (at work all machines are running mandrake, and whilst my
home machine is RedHat based, I tend to only bring home the source files,
not the compiled app).  I should probably try running a compiled app on
a range of distributions, 'cos thinking on it, it would be smart to know
the pitfalls now, rather than later when I'm in a hurry to get an app
rolled out. ;)

I was trying to remember the required clx libs, and I can't locate my
documentation, but I'm kind of sure that they should be:

bplbaseclx.so.6 -> bplbaseclx.so.6.5.0
bplvisualclx.so.6 -> bplvisualclx.so.6.5.0
libborunwind.so.6 -> libborunwind.so.6.0
libqt.so.2 -> libqt.so.2.3.0
libqtintf-6.5-qt2.3.so -> libqtintf-6.5.0-qt2.3.so

(as of Kylix2 - I haven't even looked at Kylix3's deploys yet).

If we could bundle all of these up, with any other libraries that may be
needed, such as libstd-c++, into an RPM that can be easily distributed
when deploying kylix apps, that would probably be a useful tool for
people. 

It still strikes me as odd though that Borland appear not to have made
any efforts to standardize any of this, since not only is this clearly a
stumbling block for  many new kylix users, but also a somewhat ugly
aspect of kylix that tends to give deployed apps a slightly unpolished
look.
