Unborn Kylix newbie need help

Hi all,
Next month our company will try to switch from the current OS (Windows) to Linux, and I need info about Kylix, since most programs for the current OS are written in Delphi, so I think I would be easier to write it in Kylix for new OS, tell me if am wrong.
For now, my questions are:
1. Delphi/Kylix compability.
2. How to translate our components into Kylix?
3. Delphi 7.0 and Kylix 3.0, which one is better?
