I think the general problem here is that most programmers strive to become masters in one specific field/language, it will take long enough to "master" any language I don't believe that there is one single person who knows 100% of any particular language, that is why a Delphi programmer is not interested in any VB code and vice versa, people who are interested in various languages usually join multiple lists, but when asking a question on a list that requires some Delphi expertise you would rather ask it in a specialized Delphi list like this. There is nothing wrong with exploring new technologies and new languages, as a programmer you must limit yourself in how broad you want to go, their lies enough challenges in one language in my and everyone here's case (Delphi) that there is no way to get anything beneficial from receiving posts on many different languages each day. There is a saying: You either know lots about little or little about lots, kind of a law of the universe cannot be proven wrong. Surely many of us have worked in different languages myself some Java and C++, but not 10% of the level of Delphi knowledge, and after many many years in the business I suppose you might have a good insight on many languages but you forget lots of things you knew before and do not stay as "sharp" in one specific thing as someone else working with that one specific thing each day. But I suppose it could be good for novices or people who want to just get the basics of programming and see how different languages works maybe to advocate their choice in language(s).
