You are not crazy!  I have had this happen myself.  The only way I
could fix it was to go back to a previous version of the program and
recreate the report.  My only guess was that there was a fault in the
internals of the program that caused it to not reset itself when
printing on a different canvas.  Once you start getting this,
recompiling, does not seem to help the problem.

Sorry to not be more insightful.  It is one more of the
mysteries/frustrations with QR!!!..:)
