TZF - ZAP; deleting Indexes

Thanks for your good answers to my previous question. I have two more (I'm new to TOPAZ for Delphi). 1. I'm having trouble getting ZAP to work. I do as the manual suggests, close the file, declare it exclusive (though it's a single-user progarm), and zap it. The zap doesn't "take." What am I missing? It does this whether or not I open the file exclusive. 2. When I'm working in the IDE with the indexing program, when I delete an index I get a system error and have to exit Delphi and restart it. My solution has just been not to delete indexes, but I'm getting quite a number of them with some tables. Again, I'm missing something. Thanks for any help.
