I know this is a Topaz ListServer, but y'all are a nice
bunch of folks and likely can shed some light on this
subject.

One of Java's main claims to fame is that it is machine-independent
because of this pseudo-code and Java Virtual Machines. My
understanding of .NET is that it is (or will be) machine-independent.
Does that mean that Java is likely to become much less popular
when a first-class compiler (read Delphi) implements the .NET
standard fully??

Thanks for any help in understanding this issue.
