I don't know this. But in Project --> Options, you can set the packages for this application. I think this is what is in the DOF file. I have lots of problems with Updating components, mainly when you have to support older projects (you get new bugs when supporting an old app, because you updated components). So what I do now, if install the component to a package that has a version number in its filename. In project options I check the versions needed, and include them on my archive CD.
