Well my experience of this geant stuff is:

1. It took me days to work out roughly what it was and how to use it.

2. Even then, I didn't finish up using it.

3. It looks just like technology that I used all the time (and was 
expert at) circa 1990, except that today it's all XML-ified. Having 
done it both ways, I know for a fact that the old way is *not* better. 
What I was trying to do with EPOM, ECLI, Gobo, etc. would be done in a 
modern IDE by selecting a few things and clicking OK. Most installs 
these days are a few mouse clicks and it's all over in ten minutes. 
Maybe I could have got EPOM up and running too in 10 minutes, if I'd 
known what to do, but the options were sufficiently ill-defined that it 
took me about 100 times that length of time. This is EXTREMELY 
inefficient.
