Yes, because it gets turned into Eiffel. You could program that in
Eiffel of course as well, but you wrote:

Exactly. That's why we have tools like lex and yacc. And besides,
they're more prodictive. Writing your options in XML with help of a
supporting editor is going to be much faster than cobbling the Eiffel
code together.
