My remark was not about timing to deliver a solution,
but more about why is it always "others" who have to
adapt themselves. You see what I mean...

As for the environment variable, I would rather switch
back to using ec until ISE fixes the compatibility issue
with ecb.

Alternatively, instead of an environment variable, we
could imagine adding a compatibility option to geant's
<ise> element so that people could decide which projects
should be compiled with ec or with ecb independently.
Something like that:

   <ise estudio_compatible="true" ... />
