Heh, that's interesting coincidence, I want to do something similar. I programmed 8bit videogames in 1980s and now I want to create some "old school" simple (2d) games, just for fun. I never liked C/C++ so I am trying out various languages. And Eiffel looks very promising - I am able too create my simple test game (which uses NCURSES) without actually having to program simple line in C. Plus it's very small and very fast. Actually, Eiffel seems to be the most interesting language I saw since Smalltak. The whole 'design by contract" seems really appealing, forcing you to write clean code...
