Getting into the Haskell Platform

I wrote the following email to the Haskell Platform list asking for
guidance getting the latest versions of OpenGL back into the platform
(they currently only have an old version):

It's unfortunate that no one has responded there. It's something I'd
like to move forward on.

Do people here have opinions about the suggestions I made in that email?
