I'm looking at the current (5.0) Lua fink file, now.  Have contacted 
its author to see if anything's happening.

 From the experience I have, fink is simpler than -say- Debian 
packaging, and very developer friendly, actually. Also, I'd regard it 
as #1 solution for making Lua easy to use (sorry - install :) on OS X.

If.. the current maintainer does not reply, would you / others be 
willing to co-operate on the fink package description as a team?
