If I understand properly, it might be possible using gtkBuilder in place of
libglade. But I'm not sure it is worth doing if we can support gtk3.

Sorry not to have informed you earlier. His work is available in branch
gtk3. It is based on Adrien's attempt, and generates automatically bindings
and signals directly from the gir files.

It works pretty well and he could run a few simple examples using only
generated bindings.

What is missing is integration with the handcrafted parts of lablgtk, and
the generation of the OO layer.
Unfortunately, I have had no time to finish his work.
