A short summary this week, partly because little is going on, 
partly because I'm dashing away for the week.

Shlomi Fish, after much ranting and raving about the status of 
the Perl community, has sat down and done something about it. 
He's come up with the Unofficial Perl Beginner's Site, as opposed 
to the official site at learn.perl.org. As he says, "it features 
many links and information on external resources, a wiki, a mailing 
list, and a web forum."
