Initially Malcom Beattie, former perl pumpking,  wrote and released to 
CPAN both Tcl and Tcl::Tk Perl  modules.
Then he left perl development and switched to other computer areas.

I took maintenance on those modules, because even elder Perls version 
5.6.x caused core dumps, so maintenance was necessary.

After a while  I realized it is quite simple to provide perlTk syntax to 
this bridge module.

Now it has its own development list and has quite essential additions 
from both Perl and Tcl/Tk experts.


Why did I tried that module (Tcl::Tk) at all, couple of years ago? I 
needed some feature, and wrote here, to this list, and someone here 
adviced me to look into Tcl modules on CPAN (now I don't remember 
exactly who, I suspect this was Slaven Rezic, but I can't remember 
exactly, excuse me for this; I can't succeed searching archives of this 
list on www.perltk.org is it available anywhere as single file? or with 
better searching capabilities? (searching features are promised but do 
not work :( ))
