Is PTK a dead end? Or [ UpdateWrapper woes ]

I'm working on gnome/linux and windows. Activestate port on windows.

Scripts all work fine on linux, but on win32, I'm having to do all kinds of timing hacks for things to work.

So, has development ended on PTK, or is it hopeless to maintain (as the author of Tcl::Tk would posit, perhaps).

Any suggestions helpful.

How can I get it just to work "as advertised" on Windoze XP?

$mw->after(500,sub{$mw->deiconify})

... is a really stupid workaround, I think. Any thoughts? Are any folks on this list using Perl::Tk on WinXP without getting spurious "UpdateWrapper: Failed to create container" errors?

Cheers,
