Installing Perl modules: ppm and Nmake don't work

Hi,

I'm working behind a corporate firewall with a proxy server that - afaik - uses dynamic IP addresses. Even with setting the http_proxy, http_proxy_user and http_proxy_pass environment variables (under Windows XP SP2), ppm is not able to reach out to ActiveState's module directory. When I download modules from CPAN, create the makefile ("perl Makefile.PL") and the use the nmake 1.5 utility - this doesn't work either.

Have you got any idea what could be done?

Many thanks in advance for your assistance

Cheers
Wolfgang
