Question about proposed XML::Parser change - RT 13204

It's been proposed I apply this fix to XML::Parser. I agree with the assessment that it should have been patched this way to begin with. I'm worried that if I do so, I'll start causing previously working code to start failing.

Can anyone on this list offer me some advise on the risk of the change?

Thanks,
Todd

I'm writing because at work we use XML::Parser as the main class for our High-Performance parsers and we stumbled across the same bug, when you using Style => 'Subs' it chews up all exceptions unlike all the other styles.

In this case the bug reporter included a patch that I reviewed and seems to have fixed the problem, What would it take for you to review and apply it. I think as a side benefit would make all styles more consistent in terms of behavior.

Thanks,
