By the way: the more we use the wiki for every discussion the more 
effort it will take to manage. With mailing lists, old discussions just 
scroll of into the sunset. With wikis, you have to manually move them.

I propose: Mailing lists for transactional, transient discussions. Wikis 
for building documents that are meant to last...
