Question about TCP manuals

Hi everyone...I'm new to ruby and I'm looking for some good manual about  
TCP networking in Ruby. I've a Programming Ruby book, but it doesn't  
contain enough informations I want. I've googled the web but didn't see  
any full manual yet :( I want to know such informations like for example:  
how to check in my code, when the connection was closed by foreign host  
etc.
