Re: 9.0 refusing to run on Ubuntu

It wouldn't be crazy to have an in-memory bitmap font that could be  
used as a fallback for any operating system.  After all, Smalltalk  
included fonts from the beginning.  Or, perhaps there is a free public  
domain font that could be included in the distribution?

The XFT stuff works, but you have to load it *before* you have a problem.  ;)
