nlffi help

I'm trying to put together a BLAS NLFFI module and I'm running into  
the following error quite consistently:

$Execute: required privileges are:
   c-int
   primitive
FFI/blas.cm:76.5-76.16 Error: link-time exception in user program  
(blas.cm):FFI/(blas.cm):../libh.sml
   DynLinkError

/usr/local/smlnj-110.57/bin/sml: Fatal error -- Uncaught exception  
Link with 0
raised at ../cm/compile/link.sml:355.28-355.35

I have a sneaking suspicion that this is related to the library I'm  
trying to link to:

/sw/lib/libcblas.a

Maybe this is not a dynamically loadable library ?
