For the life of me I can't reproduce this but I'm sure there is a bug somewhere that caused my losses. I was playing around with many of the settings e.g. shutting off all extensions when I first used the program. I am using version 0.34 on Linux Mint 11 with Sun/Oracle java 6. In the very beginning I was using open jdk but not anymore. I have not lost any more diagrams.
